A Guide to the Camino de Santiago from Villiviciosa, through Oviedo, to Santiago

Now in their 10th year as a mobile app, and their 12th online, the Wise Pilgrim Guides are the go-to source of up-to-date information on the Camino de Santiago. The app is updated regularly with new content and new features and offers you the ability to leave tips for pilgrims following behind you. This guide covers the Camino Primitivo, the original route across Asturias in Northern Spain. It has been redesigned and now works almost exclusively offline (to share your comments with others will require a data connection). As more an more albergues share their WiFi this becomes less of an issue, and the guide will tell you which ones offer WiFi.Accommodation Directory: A full directory of Albergues, camping, hotels, pensions, paradors, and cases rurales. Over 400 in total, with special attention to those that can be booked online.Stageless Guide:No more "stage anxiety" or guide created bottlenecks.Maps: Offline and online versions of a beautiful topographical may will give you a good view of the terrain ahead.Photos: Photos of albergues, monuments and other points of interest along the way. Scrollable Elevation Map: This one is hard to show with just a screenshot, but the elevation that appears at the top of every city page scrolls East to West. One complete elevation, from Oviedo to Santiago, uninterrupted by page folds.Comments: Albergue closed early for the season? Have a restaurant that you want to share, or perhaps one to warn others about? Every location in the app gives you the opportunity to leave a comment and to read the comments left by others. No registration necessary.¡Buen Camino and thank you for your support! This update fixes a bug which prevented some devices from clicking on booking and accommodation websites.Updated content for the 2022 pilgrims. These include many uncertain closures and reopening and new prices as well as updated contact information.

This is brilliant informative app. It has all the information you need.

Please take out that check if you're online or not before opening the maps. they are stored on the device anyway. After the app crashed today, i had no more connection and no more maps until I arrived in Poladura - which was more than unpleasant. Considering I'll be hiking towards Arbas tomorrow, I'd prefer getting the gpx track from the app (or as mentioned, to switch off that stupid online-check)

You need to mess about with phone settings to get GPS to work. Interface is poor you often need to click place a couple of times on the map to get to the info. The app uses an incredible amount of data and the maps do NOT work if you don't have a data connection. In fact the map will not even open without a data connection. Considering that parts of the Primitivo are quite remote you cannot rely on this app. Would be much better with offline maps, open streetmaps for instance. App also can become unstable and crashes. If this happens you need to reboot phone.

Keeps crashing, same as the Inglés app, getting a refund

The real time GPS tracker that would automatically take me to my position when I opened the online map didn't work for me. I had 24 hrs internet connection at all times. This is the same problem I have had when I installed other WP apps on my second smartphone. I have registered this problem before with the developer.

A waste of time without internet.
